The second round Stanley Cup(stanley cup championship rings) Playoffs series between the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues has gone precisely as planned. Both teams won a game in St. Louis and now the series is heading to Dallas. On Monday, April 29, starting at 8:00 p.m. EST, the Stars will host the Blues at American Airlines Arena. It will be aired nationally on NBCSN, Sportsnet, and TVAS.
Dallas got some much-needed offense in Game 2, as they scored three first-period goals against St. Louis. This wound up being the difference, as they won 4-2. Roppe Hintz had two goals, including an empty net goal with three seconds left. Mattias Janmark and Miro Heiskanen provided the other goals for Dallas. Goalie Ben Bishop stopped 33 of 35 shots.
In Game 2, St. Louis got goals from Colton Parayko and Jaden Schwartz. Ryan O’Reilly, David Perron, and Parayko each picked up an assist. Goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced.
Dallas(Dallas Stars championship rings) has been very good at home in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, St. Louis, if you remember, won all of their games away from home in the first round. So perhaps the Blues are in familiar territory on the road. It should be an interesting matchup.
Both goaltenders have been good so far. This series could ultimately come down to which one makes the fewest mistakes. Thus far, it’s been Bishop, but Binnington(custom championship rings) has been strong as well.
