Nor do I. I get Persson is gonna be good but it's not like I'm not giving him nothing. Ek is a first line center on a steal of a contract. Hischier is still young with a decade of playing in front of him and he got all of my 2027 picks. Kadri adds little value cause he's a UFA.
Tough one. I generally judge upgrade eligible players by +2 per year.
So this to me is two 90’s and some picks for a 96 and a 85.
So, based on that, it seems fair.
However then I look at what I call the superstar rule. The Turcotte’s, The Hughes’, the Svechnikov’s, those 93/94+ guys who tear the league up, and Persson is gonna be one of those guys, so that adds an extra value over just overalls.
Add in that we are taking that guy from a secondary, still available team and putting him on a primary team, which I think is an extra cost, much like taking top players from No GM teams.
For those reasons, I reject. I feel like it’s sorta on that line, so I feel I should fully explain my position.
